Description

If you are familiar to the online browser game Ikariam, you will properly have noticed how annoying, it sometimes can be when you look at your big city with it's resources, and you simply do not know which building is upgradeable regarding to the amount of your resources. Ikariam Upgrade Watcher (IUW) is what you need.

This mod attach an icon to each building in your cities (you can see the examples below). Each icon has also a number which indicates the current level of your building. The colors of the icons have different meaning and should give you a fast answer—that is if the building is upgradeable or not.

Green Barracks Blue Barracks Red Barracks Grey Barracks

  • Green Icon Enough resources to upgrade the building.
  • Blue Icon Enough resources to upgrade the building, but a construction is going on.
  • Red Icon Not enough resources to upgrade the building.
  • Grey Icon Information about next building level is not available.

The calculation of the resources needed to upgrade a given building is done automatically without any requirements from you. That includes all the resource reduction bonuses you get from research and specific buildings in your city. The mod automatically detects all the bonuses.

New in Version 1.1.0

In this version, a small info box has been added to the icons. When you put your mouse over the icon, the info box will show up with information about resources for the given building. Below, you can see examples of the info boxes. There are no info box for black icons, and info boxes for blue icons are the same as for green icons.

Green Barracks Info Red Barracks Info

  • Green number indicates the number of resources you have left after the upgrade.
  • Red number indicates the missing resource in order to upgrade.

The info box will be shown on mouse over as default, however, this option can be turned off in the standard options page in Ikariam. When turned off, the info box will no longer show.

New in Version 1.2.0

In this version, I added the icon and info box to a construction spot. In the original design, I thought that when a construction is in process, there is no need for information on the construction spot. However, a user from userscript.org (giangkid) suggested to add an icon and info box to the construction spot, because he wants to upgrade a building sequentially. The infomation of needed resources after the construction will let him know how much resource to be sent from another town. A very good point from giangkid which I did not thought about. Thanks to him for that suggestion.

Note: The infomation in the info box for a construction spot is calculated two levels ahead. This means that the needed resources shown in the box are for the upgrade of the building after the construction is done.
